Transportation

A division of Metrolinx, GO Transit is the regional public transit service for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, with routes extending to communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe . We carry 65 million passengers a year. Since May 1967, GO Transit has evolved from a single GO Train line along Lake Ontario’s shoreline into an extensive network of train lines and bus routes.
Toronto Pearson International Airport (TPIA) began operating in 1939 when it was known as Malton Airport. TPIA has grown to become Canada’s biggest and busiest airport, and the 25th busiest airport in the world (based on passenger traffic/cargo volume in 1998).
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, commonly known as the Toronto Island Airport, is a small airport located on the Toronto Islands in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is named after Air Marshal Billy Bishop, a Canadian World War I flying ace. The airport is home to Porter Airlines.
VIA Rail Canada operates the national passenger rail service on behalf of the Government of Canada. As an independent Crown Corporation established in 1978, the corporation provides travelers with safe, efficient and and cost-effective passenger transportation in the country’s two official languages.

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is among the world’s leading museums of natural history and world cultures. The ROM contains Canada’s largest museum collections with more than five million objects. The collections grow by approximately 67,000 items each year, reflecting the Museum’s diverse interests. The collections are extraordinary in their scientific value, territorial and disciplinary range, containing matchless artifacts of importance.
Founded in 1900 by a group of private citizens as the Art Museum of Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is one of the largest art museums in North America, with a physical facility of 583,000 square feet. The AGO expanded it facility in 2008 with an innovative architectural design by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry. As one of Canada’s most distinguished art museums, the AGO organizes and hosts a wide spectrum of major exhibitions.
The Ontario Science Centre pioneered the concept of interactive science museums, and has attracted 37 million visitors since opening on September 27, 1969. A favourite of students of all ages, it has displayed a wide variety of fascinating exhibits covering all branches of science as well as explorations of behavior, technology and the universe.
The Toronto Zoo is the largest zoo in Canada encompassing 710 acres. It is divided into seven zoogeographic regions: Indo-Malaya, Africa, Americas, Tundra Trek, Australasia, Eurasia, and the Canadian Domain. Some animals are displayed indoors in tropical pavilions and outdoors in what would be their naturalistic environments, with viewing at many levels. The zoo is currently home to over 5,000 animals (including invertebrates and fish) representing over 450 species.
Defining the Toronto skyline, the CN Tower is Canada’s most recognizable and celebrated icon.
It is 1,815.4 ft concrete communications and observation tower in Downtown Toronto.Built on the former Railway Lands, it was completed in 1976, becoming the world’s tallest free-standing structure and world’s tallest tower at the time. It held both records for 34 years until the completion of Burj Khalifa and Canton Tower n 2010. It remains the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere.
Air Canada Centre(ACC) is Canada’s premiere sports and entertainment venue and home to the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club, Toronto Raptors basketball club, and the Toronto Rock lacrosse team. The ACC hosted its first hockey game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadians two years after the project broke ground in February 1999. Since then the Air Canada Centre has hosted thousands of events including concerts, sporting events, family shows, festivals, banquets, receptions, trade-shows, and business meetings.
Rogers Centre (formerly SkyDome) was the world’s first multi-purpose retractable domed stadium. Located beside the soaring CN Tower, its round silhouette forms an unmistakable part of the Toronto skyline. It is minutes from Union Station in downtown Toronto. Rogers Centre is home to the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team and the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts. The popular venue also plays host to large concerts, trade shows and other major events
